UNCUT is a non-profit organization that originated as a 501(c)(3) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2018. In 2021, the organization was brought to Charlottesville by Lacey McCormack, Laughlin Ryan, and Rebecca Jarrett as a Contracted Independent Organization (CIO) at the University of Virginia.

UNCUT at UVA is a student-led, athlete-driven platform committed to creating a safe space for athletes to tell their own stories in their own ways. We invite all of our athletes to speak candidly about mental health, overcoming injuries, developing personal passions, uncovering unique talents, and more.

Through our storytelling approach, we hope to build a community of support, advocacy, and camaraderie among athletes on and off the field.

UNCUT at UVA is comprised entirely of students and student-athletes at the University of Virginia. This enables us to produce high-quality, impactful content because our peer-to-peer interactions spark an authenticity that is impossible to replicate. Here, student-athletes are not interviewed, they are presented with a platform to share their own experiences and champion their own causes.
